Terminal Bas Sungai Nibong is located approximately 10 km from George Town city center. You can take a taxi or popular e-hailing services like Grab to get there from downtown.
A more budget-friendly option is to use Rapid Penang city buses. Several routes, such as Bus 303, 401, and 401E, connect George Town and key areas like KOMTAR to Terminal Bas Sungai Nibong, with travel times ranging from 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic. Penang Sentral Bus Terminal is located in Butterworth, just across the Penang Bridge from George Town. It is well-connected and serves as a major transportation hub for buses, trains (ETS), and ferries.
From George Town, you can reach Penang Sentral by:
Ferry: Take the ferry from the Raja Tun Uda Ferry Terminal (near Padang Kota) to Pangkalan Sultan Abdul Halim Ferry Terminal in Butterworth. The ferry ride takes about 15 minutes, and Penang Sentral is directly connected to the ferry terminal.
Car or e-hailing services: A drive across the Penang Bridge takes about 20–30 minutes, depending on traffic.
Rapid Penang buses: Several routes including Bus 101 and 601 connect George Town and Butterworth. Travel time may vary between 45 minutes to 1 hour.Please visit here for the latest schedule and route details.

Getting there:
Currently, we have a counter in KL Sentral to sell tickets to customers.
If you're taking a Grab or taxi to KL Sentral, set the drop of point as "KL Sentral
Departure Hall". When you get inside the hall, you will see the counter.
If you
access by public transit modes, note that the bus departure location is on the same
level with KLIA Departure Hall (ERL - Express Rail Link).
KL Sentral is the largest transit hub in Kuala Lumpur. We recommend that you re-check the access to the departure location near your trip date again for a smooth boarding.
*Note: For Plusliner bus users departing from/ arriving in KL Sentral, you may be guided on a shuttle service for the short travel between KL Sentral and Hentian Duta, before boarding the express bus (your departure time from KL Sentral remains the same as your original bus ticket time).
If this is your first time using the shuttle service from KL Sentral to Hentian Duta, please approach the staff at the bus ticket counter for guidance.
This operational changes has been introduced from 1 June 2025 due to some proximity restrictions near the roads in KL Sentral. For any enquiry about the shuttle service, please contact our customer center.

By LRT/KTM:
Take the LRT (Sri Petaling or Ampang Line) to Bandar Tasik Selatan station.
From the station, TBS bus terminal is just a short walk away (approximately 10
minutes) via a connecting bridge/ covered walkway.
Alternatively, you can also take the KTM Komuter to Bandar Tasik Selatan station.
By Bus:
Rapid KL buses also service the TBS bus terminal.
Many bus routes connect to TBS bus terminal, so please kindly check with Rapid KL or
other bus operators for specific routes information.
By E-hailing/ Taxi:
E-hailing services like grab or taxis are readily available at various locations in
Kuala Lumpur, including at the train stations. You can easily hail a ride using
their app.

Getting there:
Due to its proximity to the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), buses departing from Hentian Duta Bus Terminal can quickly get on the highways leading to the northern states such as Penang, Perak (Ipoh), Perlis, and Kedah. So if you want to avoid traffic jams, Hentian Duta is a good option.
However, Hentian Duta terminal is not accessible by public transports like LRT, MRT. People usually get there by e-hailing service such as Grab, Taxi.
